Cheerio 2010

Well what a year that was
Plenty of fishing with the family and friends with new species caught a some cracking good laughs, some lovely days out especially when my Mother visited.
Photography taken off again and I am thoroughly enjoying it.
Some great beach days well over 30 at a guess.

There always is a down side though and my injections not working and causing more pain is one, Job centre not being able to help in any way is another.

I have made some new acquaintanceships through VVOC and one very good friend in Dave whom I wish has a very special 2011 after a difficult 2010 especially now he has moved back up North and many thanks for all the work done on my car even though you have deserted us ;-)

A very dear friend suffered a heart attack so Jase I wish for you too have a wonderful 2011 and a good health for all the family.

To Luc I hope to see more of you this year and wish you a great new year and I hope you crack on and enjoy your courses and hobbies and look after Tammi xx

New friendships are being forged in a new forum I have joined to all the best to the Bridge camera forum.
All the best to existing, past and new Fish simmers and I hope to be more active in 2011.
To the Fuji forum happy new year and thanks for all your C&C which will aid my skills.
To all my friends on FB I wish you all a very happy new year and a safe and healthy 2011.

To my wife, Liam, James and Jessica thankyou for another year of support and love and I look forward to a better year in 2011.

all the best to you all

That time off year

Here we are again the time to make all children get over excited and eat way to much chocolate, I wish you all a very merry Christmas and to all my friends I hope you have a safe and healthy one with plenty off lovely pressies.

I have a tale off irony I have spent all week trying not to fall over on ice and end up slipping over getting in the shower so in a bit off pain especially left leg but hey as I say ironic.

Have a great time and have a drink for me as I can't boo hiss.

To my Mother a very Happy 70th Birthday today and we all love you loads so enjoy your day xxxxxxx.

To my Dad I feel you with us all and we love and miss you so very much, merry Christmas Dad xxxxxxx.

all the best

Hi all...... hope your not too chilly.

Sunday jumped on the bikes and rode to Radipole reserve and took some snaps one of which I have entered a comp to win my dream HS10 (see post below).

Still have not been fishing as back is killing me but I must get out soon or I will forget how to do it, my inspiration at the moment is Henry Gilbey's enthusiasm  which I will say actually got me sea angling in the 1st place.
The chap is and awesome photographer and not a bad angler also but does have to suffer trips to hot sticky climates rather than fish his local waters ..poor soul ;-) Check out his site HERE.

Liam is desperate to get his doggy but not desperate to freeze to death for it, which leads me on to a question, I was gifted a full body floatation suit last year but the kids sizes are the same price as adults, whats going on it's half the material used ?

Liam had a small achievement yesterday when a Robin fed from his hand whilst James had a great panto playing Dopey and looked awesome.

This week more photography and perhaps some fishing .

Oh check out this Bridge camera forum which is growing at a steady rate bridge camera users well worth a visit and indeed join if you use a bridge camera.

take care

Pat

Chilly week

Well the snow did come to Weymouth and stuck about for 24 hours but the cold is still across the UK so things are still a bit white in the mornings, I took over 200 photo's (thanks for digital) over a few days but mainly on the main snow day.

The majority came out like typical holiday snaps and don't have much class at all but some I am fairly pleased with the results on the S1800.
Taken on Dorchester road, Weymouth best angle due to traffic and posts.
Lodmoor reserve path early evening whilst walking with James

Liam has had no football so Sunday had a nice wander and got a few close shots of a Heron and saw some nice birds of prey, a hungry Robin fed from my chilled fingers and a colourful blue tit lit up the grasses, it was lovely and sunny but got nippy again so headed home for a nice hot brew.

As for fishing I am hoping to get out soon but my pain levels are up and don't want to push it but I am desperate for Liam to have his 1st Dogfish so will let him have the rods until he gets one (hope it is not  too long before I get a go).

Have a great week and be safe

No show for snow....yet !!!

Hi all
Hope you are enjoying the "big" freeze.....we have been told to expect snow here in Weymouth but apart from the old sprinkling it goes within and hour or so.
I have been watching the videos for better snow pictures just in case, I managed to get down Radipole yesterday and was shown a "Water Rail" (rare bird for here) and did take about 30 pictures but all were not very good so may have to pop there again today on the way to get James from school.
I did however get a closer shot of a Heron but still needed full zoom SEE BELOW.
I am going to try my 2.2 telephoto later and will see what happens.
Still no car as no funds for battery so pain levels are up but hey the weather is suppose to be barmy at the weekend up to around 8 or 9 degrees so maybe a beach day swim (NOT).
Heron below on the ice but the hot chocolate and hospitality at the RSPB centre was 2nd to none.
Take care

Smegging ell !! a weekend to forget !!

Well the car was fixed with a new crank sensor on Thursday only for the battery to die on Saturday...so until I can save some dish it will be walking or public transport.
Also Liam's team were defeated Sunday in the bitter cold but hey always next week.

Finally got out for an hour with the camera today and just mucked about a bit more on manual which I say is far better than auto for me now.
Had a wander around Lodmoor reserve and it is very much iced over but with the sun beaming down it give a lovely look although a wee bit nippy.

Hopefully popping down to Radipole tomorrow with flask ;-)

Just one image from today wander more later

Tuesday's titbit

Well Tuesday has been quiet as the youngest is still home unwell, I have not managed to get out again so I am awaiting Thursday when the car is in the garage, I can then pop down a lane and I will be at the back off the Fleet so the camera will be out.
I will be taking loads off shots and trying a few things I have seen on forums etc.
Getting nippy but I quite like it (my body doesn't) now the leaves are losing their stance the frosts should make nice features for the camera's eye.
I am still not well enough to stand in the cold and do any fishing but hey I will again asap, there is not many anglers out and about anyway atm due to the drop in temp.
Sadly my sister has had some bad news this week so BIG hugs to her ;-)
Must also have a massive laugh at Arse an all's results so far this week so HAHAHAHAHAHA.
Sorry but I enjoyed that.
Today's picture was taken 2 weeks ago on a walk in 2 Mile Coppice.

Take care

Monday morning blues

Well it's Monday morning after a quiet weekend, I didn't manage to get out apart from Liam's football match (won 6-0) as James came home Friday poorly and although the sky and sea are blue atm James is still at home poor chap,
I am hoping to get out this week with the camera but not fishing as my back is killing me and the cold nights will make it worse but hey at least I can watch Tottenham win again this week after turning over the goon squad Saturday.
The hardest bit is at the weekend when Spurs play Liverpool, knowing I want Liverpool to win but that will hurt my 2nd team spurs lol.

Anyway I am gonna try and be creative this week down on the beach I have watch several videos on how to play with seascapes so I will see if they work out on my Bridge camera.

Have a good one

Pat

Friday already !!

Well the weekends nearly here once more and all I can hope for is less bloody pain, must be the wet and wind making me feel uurgghh or aaarggh atm.
Anyway always someone worse off .
I took delivery of a cheap 2.2 telephoto lens which I can use with the lens adapter I have so will try and get some good tests in next week.
Also practise some indoor stuff as My youngest Son is playing Dopey in the school play soon.
I need to do a "paperclip" test on the car to find this fault that keeps popping up so lets hope its a simple fix.
Plans for the weekend ? nothing as yet apart from Liam's football on Sunday (if pitch playable).Pat

I hate reinstalling PC's

Yep
Decided it was time to clean the system and now Updates are invading me.
Anyway Saturday was a good day as we (Jen,James,Liam and I) had a gentle stroll in the woods (Jen needs better footwear than trainers hehe.
Saturday night we went over to Southill fireworks which was one of the best displays I have seen in a while but not for photography, there were wires, corners off buildings in my shots and if I would have moved it would have been trees grrr.
Anyhow spent some time in editing and removed obstructions as best I could.
Sunday Liam and I were across at a very wet Wimbourne in the cup and proceeeded to be knocked out 7-1 which we didn't really care as it gives us some Sundays off (hopefully).
Poor Liam sat in the car in my tshirt and a towel wrapped around him for the journey home as he only took spare socks hmm.
Monday was boringly busy with food shopping and washing but later today I am hoping to pop down Radipole and take some shots (with the camera)

2 day washout

Oh well 2 days off rain and wind so roll on Saturday when the weather is suppose to be dry and bright, I will slam in the pain killers and make the most of it with a walk with the Boys and then  fireworks at night.
The camera will be over worked tomorrow I am sure and Littlun has checked his camera is charged so hey ho and away we go......in the morning lol.

Anybody want any pain I have bucket loads spare and free delivery ;-)

Ok today's photo is where we will be heading tomorrow but it won't be this dry under foot.

Wednesday, 10 November 2010

It be Wednesday and I didn't get out until this afternoons Hospital appointment so again Picture-less, the weather is not looking good for the next 2 days but I am going to try and get out for some wave shots if possible during these high winds.
I will also be trying some macro on manual just to see what I can create.
I also await Saturdays firework display so I can get something better than this

    We will see !!!

Bit wet eh ?

Well another day picture less but I am hoping to pop out tomorrow if time permits, I want to continue my manual setting practise and possibly shutter speed with my now arrived ND filters.
So in the mean tine here is a bright picture among these grim skies.
Take care
Pat
